Famous saxophonist and jazz musician Wayne Shorter has died at the age of 90. In this respect informs Güneş quotes a representative of the artist.
Shorter rose to fame in the 1950s, and in the 1960s he joined the legendary Miles Davis Quintet, which also included Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams.
He found his jazz-rock style while working with Davis, forming the band Weather Reporter. In the 1970s, he began playing with rock stars such as Carlos Santana, Steely Dan, and singer Joni Mitchell, with whom he recorded the album Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter in 1977.
He took part in the creation of famous jazz compositions Black Nile, Speak No Evil, Footprints.
In 2015, Wayne Shorter received an honorary Grammy Award.
The musician was survived by his wife Carolina dos Santos, daughter Miyako, adopted daughter Mariana, and granddaughter.
