The Russian State Circus will continue its tours in China for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been reported DEA News regarding the company’s press service.
The press service announced that Director General Sergei Belyakov held talks with the head of the Chinese company Chimelong Group, Mr. Su Zhigan, as well as with circus producer Gia Eradze and international impresario Petr Dubinsky. The report said, “During the meeting, details of long-term cooperation in the development of bilateral relations in the field of circus art were discussed.”
According to Zhigang, in 2023 the first circus in Guangzhou will celebrate its 20th anniversary. “The arrival of Russian artists is to be involved in a major project that we plan to bring to life by such an important date,” said the Russian State Circus.
In the near future, a delegation from the Russian State Circus will go to China. “The Chinese tour of the Russian circus artists is planned to be signed for at least one year and a possible extension,” the press service said in a statement.
Zhigang invited Belyakov to the international festival in China, which is scheduled for November 2023 – here the Russians will not only perform, but also take part in the jury. In return, their Chinese colleagues were assured that they were welcome at all international events of the Russian State Circus.
