Chinese publishers remove Keanu Reeves movies

Chinese streaming platforms like Tencent Video and iQiyi have removed movies and video content featuring Canadian actor Keanu Reeves. CNA.

This happened after the artist participated in a concert dedicated to Tibet and organized by the organization founded by the Dalai Lama, the US Tibetan House, which advocated the official independence of the territory annexed to China in 1950 from Beijing. Beijing has repeatedly stated that Tibet is an integral part of the People’s Republic of China, and Reeves had previously threatening boycott.

In addition, Chinese search results for the artist’s name have also been removed.

Especially The Matrix, Speed, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Something’s Got to Happen and The Lake House are now impossible to watch on the services.

Services Youku and Migu Video recorded the cartoon “Toy Story 4”, in which Reeves voiced the stuntman in motorcycle Duke Kabum.

Previously reported14 Chinese platforms have promised to follow the stars’ fans online.
