Alexei Sukhovey’s documentary series about the lives of former students of a residential correctional school after coming of age “Orphans” will be screened in Premier online cinema.

The premiere of the series, produced by the film company 1-2-3 Production, will be held on February 27. The writers of the series were concerned that the orphans would be left alone after they left the orphanage. “The system of state orphanages in Russia does not provide its prisoners with any survival skills. No one is teaching them independence, the ability to navigate reality, establish adult relationships with others, and stand up for their rights. <…> How to deal with yourself, how to deal with adulthood, how to deal with loneliness? they ask.

The protagonists of the movie “Orphans” Nina, Sasha, Lesha, Ira, Olya and Artem, after graduating from a boarding correctional school, got apartments in New Moscow and are trying to answer the challenges of fate together.

The series “Orphans” was awarded the best documentary award at the International Film Festival “Message to Human” National Competition.
