Prosecutors softened the charges against actor Alec Baldwin in the case of cameraman Galina Hutchins’ manslaughter on the set of Rust (Rust). In this respect informs The New York Times newspaper.
Lawyers appealed to the prosecutor’s office to ignore the firearms law passed in the state of New Mexico after the incident on the set. The accusation brought against the player by the Santa Fe County District Attorney, respectively, was found to be erroneous. Under the new law, Baldwin could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
In October 2021, Alec Baldwin accidentally shot and killed director Joel Sousa on the set of a movie with a fake gun loaded with live ammunition. He was formally charged with murder, and a charge was made against gunsmith Hannah Guterres-Rid, who worked on the set.
