A collection of works by avant-garde artist Anatoly Zverev will be exhibited at the auction. This was reported to socialbites.ca by representatives of the Russian enamel auction house.
The auction will feature Zverev’s originals, which are rare on the open art market. The paintings were collected from the private collection of Andrey Kusakin. In addition, several notebooks containing the artist’s poems will be exhibited at the auction. Anatoly Zverev is considered one of the most prominent representatives of the “second avant-garde” of the 1960s.
“Zverev’s work in the art community has always been invaluable, and as a result, it has been, and continues to be, often subject to various falsifications. There isn’t much on the market that can be spoken about with complete confidence. It is almost impossible to meet a documented array of such works. Art historian Sergey Podstanitsky personally met with Andrey Kusakin, Anatoly Zverev, many things came to the collection from the artist’s hand.
