Rhys Frake-Waterfield, director of low-budget slasher “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,” talked about his plans to create a horror movie universe that will combine Winnie the Pooh, Bambi, Peter Pan, and other fairy-tale characters. The director announced this in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“The idea is to try and imagine it all. [существуют] in the same world so we can make transitions. People have written messages that they really want to see Pooh with Bambi,” Frake-Waterfield said.
In addition to the characters associated with Disney cartoons, there are many more characters that could be in a potential series, he says: “Many old fairy tales and urban legends are concepts that are synonymous with your childhood, and they are just what you want to be immersed in a warped alternate reality.”
The movie “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” was released in Mexico on January 27 and has grossed more than $1 million to date. The movie is expected to be released in other countries, including Russia, on February 16.
