Streaming service Apple TV+ has renewed the Israeli spy thriller Tehran for a third season. It was also learned that Hugh Laurie, star of “Doctor House” and “Jeeves and Wooster”, will join the cast of the series in subsequent episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Laurie will play Eric Peterson, a South African nuclear investigator. Prior to that, Glenn Close guest-starred in the second season of Tehran.
According to the broadcast, the production of the third season has already begun. The release date has not yet been determined.
The premiere of “Tehran” took place in 2020. The show revolves around an Iranian-Jewish Mossad agent who is sent to his native Tehran to undermine Iran’s nuclear program. In 2021, Tehran won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series.
