In the film, the museum presented the author with a history of the destruction of monuments, busts and memorial plaques in Ukraine. “In March 2022, derussification began in the country. And Alexander Sergeevich was the first to fall,” say the authors of the project.
Depuskinization specifically shows how the first Pushkin monument, erected in 1899, was destroyed in Kiev on October 11, 2022. Statues of the poet were also destroyed or desecrated in other Ukrainian cities: Mukachevo, Uzhgorod, Konotop, Kharkov, Odessa, etc.
Alexander Pushkin died on February 10, 1837, after being wounded in a duel.
