Bronze bust of Dagestan People’s Poet Rasul Gamzatov will be erected at Tehran University in Iran. It has been reported TASS referring to the daughter of the poet Salikhat Gamzatova.

The installation is dedicated to Gamzatov’s centennial and will take place in May. “A bronze bust of the poet will be seen in the Islamic Republic of Iran in May, on the centennial of Rasul Gamzatov. The bust will be erected in Tehran University, named after Allameh Tabatabai, in cooperation with Dagestan State University.

The project of the bust was prepared by sculptor Shamil Kanaygadzhiev, one of the authors of the monument to Rasul Gamzatov on Yauzsky Boulevard in Moscow. According to the author’s daughter, the poet has visited Iran many times. “This country inspired him to create the poetic cycle “Persian Verses”. The erection of the monument is a sign of respect for the Messenger and his work.”
