Theater and film actor Mikhail Efremov, who was serving a prison sentence in one of the colonies in the Belgorod region, officially refused to communicate with journalists. In this respect informs Channel Five, referring to the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
The Federal Penitentiary Service noted that Efremov was exercising his legal right by writing that he refused to take photos or videos and participate in an interview.
Media representatives tried to contact Efremov when he asked for a commutation of the sentence. The actor, who was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison, offered to replace the actual prison sentence with forced labor.
On June 8, 2020, an accident involving Efremov occurred. Courier Sergei Zakharov died as a result of a collision of two cars. A few months later, the artist was sentenced to eight years in prison. Then the court reduced the sentence to 7.5 years.
Son of a man who previously died in an accident with Efremov spoke against changing the actor’s sentence from prison to forced labor.
