At Theater. The Moscow City Council hosted the premiere of Dmitry Astrakhan’s play “Holidays for Valentine” starring Dmitry Dyuzhev and Glafira Tarkhanova. The game’s press service told socialbites.ca that the game was based on a rethinking of Pygmalion by Bernard Shaw by playwright Ilya Makarov.
“This is a story that money in our life does not bring happiness: profit, profit is just a kind of aggravating circumstance. We also unlock the key to true happiness and love. I am happy that I managed to achieve the complete transformation of my character from a tramp to a gentleman – this is the dream of any actor, ”said Dyuzhev.
The game takes place in a room in a mansion in London. An elegant aristocrat (Tarkhanova) invites a homeless man (Dyuzhev) to his house and offers him to play her husband for 500 thousand pounds. In terms of the action scene, only two actors are involved in the room, but in terms of the eventfulness of the story, it’s large-scale.
“This is my first theatrical work with Dmitry Astrakhan,” said Tarkhanova. – And the first work with Dmitry Dyuzhev. Of course, when the performance is staged for two actors, it is difficult, but this is not my first experience. For a long time I did not play dramatic roles on the stage, recently there were more characteristic roles. And I’m back to something that was once in Satyricon.
