From February 6 to March 6, St. Petersburg and the Moscow branch of the Paveletskaya Museum from March 13 to April 9 will host a free interactive exhibition of pocket electronic games of the 80s.
The exhibition of the ancestors of modern portable consoles includes more than 25 exhibits: original Nintendo Game & Watch games, Soviet counterparts from the Electronics series and several unique devices of the same brand.
The first console of this type was released in 1980 by the Japanese company Nintendo; here two game modes are completed with a third where the device displays the time. Four years later, Soviet versions of the game appeared: “Wait!”, “Mickey Mouse”, “Avtoslalom”. The exhibition also includes rare games – “Biathlon”, “Arithmetic”. All working models can be played in the exhibition.
In addition, guests will be able to recognize the Soviet chess computer “Electronics IM-01” with a real chessboard, the 1990 model “Electronics “Space Adventures” IM-27″ in the form of 3D glasses. Also on display are later models of pocket electronic games – Nintendo Game Boy and Brick Game called “Tetris”.
