Lilia Gumerova, Chair of the Federation Council Science, Education and Culture Committee, in an interview with RT reacted He plans to include several books of the classics of Soviet literature in the school curriculum.
According to the senator, books that instill a sense of will, patriotism and pride in one’s country should be included in the school curriculum. “Now this is more relevant than ever. At the moment, we are doing a lot in terms of patriotic education, but without such works as Alexander Fadeev’s Young Guard, Nikolai Ostrovsky’s How Steel Was Tempered, it is simply impossible to imagine it, ”confident Gumerova.
Gumerova emphasized that patriots and citizens can be raised with “feelings and certain skills” described in the books. “And the so-called arguments of some comrades who say that we have mutilated the child’s soul are completely inappropriate. A talented teacher will always present the material correctly, and the discussion will be properly organized,” he said, adding that such films and books should be brought back into children’s lives.
Previously reportedThat the novel “How Steel Was Tempered” would be returned to the school curriculum.
