American film critic Biggs criticized Guy Ritchie for Ukrainian gangsters in the movie

Colin Biggs, a member of the Las Vegas Film Critics Association, in an article for the portal that shelf predicted a spate of criticism against director Guy Ritchie for the “wrong” image of Ukrainians in the recent film “Operation Fortune”.

The picture was taken two years ago and was supposed to be released in the spring of 2022. The foreign press announced that the film was not allowed to be released due to the negative image of Ukrainians. Then the director was advised to change some scenes and mention the nationality of the gangsters.

“Delaying the movie’s release from 2022 to 2023 alleviated the issue a bit, but not changing the bandit’s nationality will draw criticism,” Biggs wrote in the review.

He added that it wasn’t hard to fix a few scenes in a year, so it was strange for Richie to leave it as is.

Russian Trailer The Guy Ritchie action movie starring Jason Statham was released on December 2. The picture will be shown in Russian cinemas on January 26.
