Irish rock band U2 is preparing to release “Songs of Surrender”, an album remastered and re-recorded of the band’s 40 old songs, writes Pitchfork.
The album’s track listing will replicate the track listing from U2 frontman Bono’s memoir, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, released in November 2022. “Songs of Surrender” will be released on March 17.
Working on the memoir and album gave him “a chance to relive in those songs,” as Bono points out in the book: “It also meant that I could get over something that had been bugging me for a while. For the lyrics of a few songs I didn’t always think were fully written.” . They are now written. (Think.)”.
Last November, The Washington Post reported that U2 was almost ready for another album (with new songs already) “Songs of Ascent”, but Bono and the band’s guitarist Edge have yet to decide when they will release the album.
Previously It has been announced that the Duo Everything but the Girl will be releasing their first album in April after 24 years.
