Iconic hip-hop trio De La Soul’s catalog will be available for the first time on streaming services in March 2023. Variety writes about it, citing a statement from the group.

The band’s first recordings could not be heard legally online due to the removal of sampling rights and other legal challenges. However, with the acquisition of the De La Soul catalog by the music company Reservoir Media, all obstacles were removed.

De La Soul’s debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising, released in 1989, is considered one of the greatest records in hip hop history. The songs of the trio are distinguished by a non-standard approach to sampling and witty lyrics. Creativity De La Soul greatly influenced the development of jazz rap and alternative hip-hop. In 2006, the band recorded “Feel Good Inc.” with Gorillaz. won a Grammy Award for his song.

Before all of the band’s debut albums are released online, the recording’s opening track, “The Magic Number”, will be released on March 3, the 34th anniversary of their “3 Feet High and Rising” album release. Beste will appear on services on January 13.
