Director, screenwriter and producer James Wan, creator of the Saw and Astral horror series, hinted that the previously announced horror movie The Conjuring 4 could be the series finale. He talked about this in an interview with Collider.
Answering a question about the future photo, Wang said that at the moment he is just busy working on the tape. The cinematographer stressed that the Conjuring series was invaluable to his team, who didn’t want to rush the release of a new episode and wanted to first make sure that the emotional component and the story itself would feel “right”. A “probable outcome” event.
When asked what he meant by “The End” and whether the fourth “Wizard” would really be the series finale, Wan replied, “We’ll never know. You never know. We’ll see.”
The Conjuring series was launched in 2013. Its protagonists are Ed and Lorraine Warren, a real married couple of paranormal investigators. They were played on-screen by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. Later, The Conjuring came out with two direct sequels, and in recent years, the franchise has been revamped with a series of spin-offs (Annabelle’s Curse, The Nun’s Curse, and its sequels). The show had a total budget of $178 million and grossed over $2.1 billion, making The Conjuring the most successful horror series in history.
Previously Saw, The Conjuring and Astral director James Wan will reportedly be directing a horror series for Peacock.
