American director Rian Johnson said that billionaire Miles Bron from comedy detective Knives Out: The Glass Onion was not intended as a parody of Elon Musk, the head of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter, as many viewers and journalists think. The producer said this in an interview with Wired.
According to Johnson, it’s “a dreadful coincidence” that The Glass Onion’s release on Netflix coincided with the passing of the Twitter social network led by Elon Musk, which was engaged in (somewhat chaotically) redesign. which caused a lot of criticism at his address. The script for the movie was written during the coronavirus pandemic, long before Max made headlines almost daily. Miles Bron, played by Edward Norton in the movie, is supposed to be the laughing stock of billionaires, but not with any of them in particular.
“This is very strange. Very interesting.about. I hope Netflix doesn’t have a secret marketing department funding the Twitter acquisition,” Johnson joked.
“There is a lot in common with this type of tech billionaire directly. [фильм]. But, frankly, it’s become oddly relevant right now. A friend of mine said, “Brother, it felt like it was written this afternoon.” And it’s such a terrible, terrible coincidence, you know?” the director added.
According to the plot of The Glass Onion, private detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig, arrives on an eccentric billionaire’s personal island where he organizes a “mystery murder party.”
Along with Craig and Norton, the film starred Janelle Monáe, Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn and Kate Hudson. The Glass Onion premiered at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2022. On November 23, the film had a limited release in the United States, and exactly one month later the tape was released on Netflix.
