Soviet and Russian composer Eduard Artemyev died at the age of 86. It has been reported TASS referring to the son of the composer Artemy Artemiev.

Eduard Artemiev is the music composer for both Olympics in Russia, he wrote the music for the films of Andrei Tarkovsky, Nikita Mikhalkov and Andrei Konchalovsky. Thus, “A stranger at home, among strangers”, “Burnt by the Sun”, “Stalker”, “Solaris”, “Kin”, “Purely English Murder”, etc. Music for pop songs performed by Valery Leontiev, Zhanna Rozhdestvenskaya, Roxana Babayan and others.

Artemyev was a member of the Union of Composers and the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.

In early December, People’s Artist of Russia hospitalized with coronavirus in a case of moderate severity. His son later reported that his father was transferred to intensive care due to problems that arose during his treatment for bacterial pneumonia.
