Russian director Karen Shakhnazarov offered his condolences on the death of composer Eduard Artemiev. In a conversation with socialbites.ca, Shakhnazarov described him as an outstanding composer and a wonderful person in every sense. According to him, the death of the composer is a great loss for Russian culture.
Artemiev was an outstanding composer and worked with the brightest masters of Soviet and Russian cinema. It was a great honor for me, I worked with him twice. He wrote the music for the movies “Courier” and “City Zero”. This, of course, was a wonderful person in every sense. And as a professional at the highest level, as an artist and as a human being, he had absolutely extraordinary qualities. Our culture is a great loss for cinema. My condolences to his beautiful family and wife.”

Later, the composer’s son, Artemy Artemyev, reported that his father was transferred to intensive care due to problems that arose during the treatment of bacterial pneumonia.
Eduard Artemiev is the music composer for both Olympics in Russia, he wrote the music for the films of Andrei Tarkovsky, Nikita Mikhalkov and Andrei Konchalovsky.
