Former producer of the group “Architects” Alexander Ponomarev confirmed the death of the vocalist of the group Alexander Shevchenko.
“Yes, that’s right, my daughter wrote to me. I know you went fishing somewhere,” he told TASS.
Ponomarev said goodbye to Shevchenko on Thursday, December 29. According to the agency’s interlocutor, his friend may have died from a blood clot.
Ponomarev said he was also in the hospital with heart problems. “We didn’t talk on the phone yesterday, he was going to come to me today. <…> He is my age, my best friend, one of my favorite people,” added the former producer of “Architects.”
Shevchenko was the soloist of the group in 1989-1991. Singer and musician Yuri Loza left the group shortly before his arrival. Still, they communicated to this day, Loza socialbites.ca said.
“We had several incidents. Our paths crossed when the “Architects” celebrated their anniversary. He came to my festival organized by me, and he worked for free at the behest of his soul. He was very responsive and open. He’s a very positive person,” Loza said.
The artist emphasized that Shevchenko “is always to blame for creativity and work.”
After leaving the “Architects” Alexander Shevchenko began a solo career. He is known to the public primarily for the hit song “Everything will be as you want”. He received the Golden Gramophone Award in 1997.
He also composed songs for Alsou (“Winter Dream”, “First Snow”, “Sometimes”, “All the Same” and others), Jasmine (“You Jumped Through the Fire”, “You Are Away”). , Irina Allegrova (“I am guilty without me.” Shevchenko’s songs are also performed by Danko (“Do it once”), Tatyana Ovsienko (“Two nights and two days”), Nikolai Trubach (“Seventh of July”) and other artists .

After news of Alexander Shevchenko’s death, Yuri Kostin, head of GPM Radio, called him “a personal irreparable loss”.

Alexander Shevchenko was born on July 22, 1961 in the city of Mary (in the Kara-Kum desert near the border with Afghanistan). His father is a civil servant and his mother is a music teacher. After moving to what is now St. Petersburg, 12-year-old Alexander wrote the first song. Before the 1998 crisis, he played and sang in various bands, including his own band Deja Vu.
In the late 1990s, he became the producer, who “released” such stars as Alsou and Alena Sviridova. She became known with the release of her solo album “Nothing More” in 2010.
