According to People’s Artist of Russia Askold Zapashny, artistic director of the Great Moscow Circus, the creators of the show based on The Tale of Tsar Saltan, Alexander Pushkin, wanted to immerse the audience in a fairy-tale feeling as much as possible. . “We recreated it through images of heroes, costumes, but above all through the language of circus numbers. The circus is an absolutely magnificent art, it opens to the audience such possibilities of the human body and such abilities that can only be imagined in a fairy tale. You can fly, you can juggle, you can talk to animals…” said Zapashny.
The show includes gymnasts, acrobats, tightrope walkers, jugglers, magician, clowns, ballet dancers and animals. One of the key characters of the show is Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, played by dubbing actor Vsevolod Kuznetsov, who voiced Keanu Reeves in The Matrix and other films, and Puss in Boots from Shrek in Russian translations.
