Actor Vladimir Vdovichenkov explained why the TV series “Father” was very popular at foreign festivals. In an interview with socialbites.ca, the artist expressed the opinion that foreigners are attracted by “Russian talent and curiosity.”
“They probably don’t really understand how this could happen, why this person isn’t still in prison, why they haven’t been deprived of their parental rights. And we know that almost the whole country lives like that. Simple hard workers raised children without lispers and psychologists. Also, I hope we played well. The boy Andrei is just an angel, looking at him it is impossible not to get some kind of pleasure. At the same time, when I first saw the script, I asked the producers: “Guys, there’s absolutely no excess here?” Because there is a feeling that some moments are really tough. But the guys tried to find a fine line, ”said the artist.
My dad won three awards and was nominated for first place at the 2022 NYC Web Fest, held November 11-13 in Miami. The project also won the best screenplay award at the Bilbao Seriesland web series festival in Spain.
In the feature film and TV series “Father” Vdovichenkov played a cartoon dad of the early 90s. She teaches her son to count by dates on cemetery monuments, washes his mouth with soap for bad words, and teaches him to remember where “right” and “left” are by putting “nettle” on his hand.
