M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller “Knock on the Door” is rated R for profanity and violence

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) awarded M. Night Shyamalan’s post-apocalyptic thriller Knock on the Door a rental rating of R, meaning that no one under the age of 17 may be filmed without a parent or legal guardian. Collider reports.

This rating was given to the tape for its violent scenes and use of profanity. As noted in the publication, the second picture in Shyamalan’s filmography with an R rating was “Knock on the Door” – in 2008, the fantastic thriller “The Appearance” with scenes of mass suicides received the same.

The plot of “Shoot the Door” is about a family of three who are taken hostage by four strangers, who demand that the heroes make a great sacrifice to prevent the end of the world. The film is based on Paul Tremblay’s novel The Cabin at the End of the World, published in 2018.

The cast of the tape included Dave Bautista, Rupert Grint, and Jonathan Groff. Knock on the Door will hit theaters on February 3, 2023.
