Guy Ritchie has said that despite the Oscar slap scandal that Will Smith gave to host Chris Rock, he plans to continue working with the actor on the sequel to the feature-length Aladdin.
The British director talked about it at the Red Sea Film Festival, which is held these days in Saudi Arabia. Richie was the guest of honor at the review and spoke to reporters in detail about his future projects.
The director particularly lauded his experience with Smith and his intention to recall him for the role of Genie in the second film.
“I’ve never met such a nice person before and working with him has been one of the most wonderful experiences I’ve ever had. I saw him as nothing more than the perfect, generous gentleman. And I have no problem offering him the role of Genie again,” Richie said.
