McVie was born on July 12, 1943 in Birmingham. She became a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1970 and was also the wife of the band’s bassist, John McVie. He wrote and sang important songs such as “Don’t Stop”, “Little Lies”, “Everywhere”, “Over My Head” and “You Make Love Fun”.

In 1998 McVie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Fleetwood Mac.
