Petersburg will open an exhibition of the clothes of the Russian Emperor Peter I. TASS.
The restoration and storage center of the State Hermitage “Staraya Derevnya” will present about 300 pieces of wardrobe from the warehouse of Peter I. “The Emperor’s Wardrobe” exhibition. It will take place in December as part of the Hermitage Days” on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter the Great.
“This will be the main event of the end of the year of Peter the Great in the Hermitage. Everything is not easy here. We have the carpenter Peter, this image has always been imposed by Peter himself, and we have the dandy Peter, from whom they brought patterns from Paris, and there were very stylish clothes. “We show a double image of Peter, and everyone can see everything,” said Mikhail Piotrovsky, the museum’s general director.
Visitors to the exhibition will see the emperor’s children’s shirts, formal suits, business jackets and home dressing gowns.
