French-Algerian director Yann Demange, best known for Lovecraft Country and crime drama White Boy Rick, has been named the new director of the upcoming Marvel movie Blade, Deadline reports, citing anonymous sources.
Also, according to the publication, Marvel has found a new screenwriter for the tape – this will be Michael Starrbury, who worked on Ava DuVernay’s miniseries When They See Us.
The pre-release of the cassette is scheduled for September 6, 2024.
Previously Hollywood insider Jeff Snyder claimed that the lead actor of the movie “Blade” is Mahershala Ali. (“Moonlight”, “Green Book”) is unhappy with the course of the filmmaking process and allegedly believes Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has taken on too many responsibilities for him to handle. Prior to that, director Bassam Tariq left the project due to scheduling conflicts. According to media reports, Marvel wants to make the new “Blade” darker compared to previous studio films.
