American director James Cameron said that the first ideas that later formed the basis of the Avatar science fiction series came to him in a dream at the age of 19, that is, almost 50 years ago. The director announced this in an interview with GQ magazine.
“I woke up after imagining this bioluminescent forest with trees that look like fiber optic lamps and a river shimmering with bioluminescent particles and purple algae that shimmer as you walk on the ground. And such lizards that don’t seem particularly remarkable until they take off [в воздух]. And then they turned into spinning fans like living frisbees, they fell and landed on something. It was all in a dream,” Cameron admitted.
“I woke up very excited and actually sketched. [все] this. So I have a drawing. He’s saved us nearly 10 cases. In every successful movie, there’s always a freak with aluminum foil under his wig who thinks you blew the idea out of his head. And it turned out that there were 10 or 11, and so I showed [им] When I was 19. See the glowing trees? See the spinning glowing lizard, is it orange? Do you see the purple moss? And they all pulled back, ”the director added.
The sequel to the first Avatar, Avatar: The Way of the Water will hit theaters on December 16. To make a profit, Cameron said the film had to be the “third or fourth” highest-grossing film in film history, meaning at least $2 billion at the box office.
Previously director Guillermo del Toro praised Cameron’s new work.
