Russia’s Federal Tax Service (FTS) has not confirmed any suspension of accounts in companies linked to fashion designer Valentin Yudashkin. This stance was reported by DEA News and reflected in official statements from the agency.
“The Federal Tax Service of Russia has not confirmed the suspension of operations on accounts in any of the existing organizations connected with Valentin Yudashkin,” the press service clarified. The clarification came amid mixed reports circulating about the status of various accounts tied to the designer’s business ventures.
Earlier rumors suggested that the accounts of the Yudashkin Fashion House LLC had been frozen due to tax arrears totaling 118 million rubles. The tax authority has a long history of enforcing compliance measures, and such claims are not unusual in the context of high-profile fashion enterprises operating within the regulatory framework.
According to information circulating at the time, the Fashion House Valentin Yudashkin LLC did not submit its 2022 financial reporting, which often triggers compliance actions, including account freezes as part of enforcement procedures. These procedures are designed to ensure that tax obligations are accurately assessed and settled in a timely manner.
Sources at the time indicated that the organization’s balance sheet showed liabilities and a record of 118 million rubles in certain accounting periods, underscoring the financial complexities that can accompany a brand with an extensive footprint in the fashion industry.
On May 2, it was publicly announced that Valentin Yudashkin had passed away at the age of 59. The designer’s funeral took place on May 6 at Troekurovsky Cemetery, marking the end of a notable era in contemporary Russian fashion.
Valentin Yudashkin had long been a prominent figure in the fashion world, with his brand gaining recognition for its distinctive style and luxurious presentation. In 2016, the designer confronted a cancer diagnosis with metastases, an illness that recurred in the public eye over the years. In early March 2023, Yudashkin’s daughter Galina provided an update indicating improvements in her father’s health and expressed cautious optimism about medical forecasts. (Citation: DEA News)
