Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Anastasia Rakova reported that the delivery of medical equipment to the capital’s healthcare facilities is proceeding on schedule, according to DEA News. The update highlights continued progress in equipping city hospitals and clinics with modern tools designed to improve diagnostics, treatment, and patient care across the metropolitan area.

Since the start of the year, more than 10,000 units of medical equipment have reached Moscow’s medical institutions. Authorities project the acquisition of over 11,000 additional pieces of specialized equipment by year’s end, reflecting a sustained push to modernize the city’s health infrastructure in alignment with evolving clinical standards and digital health initiatives.

Rakova explained that the city’s healthcare system is not facing equipment shortages. In the first months of the year, Moscow’s hospitals and polyclinics received over ten thousand items, including 176 units of high-precision diagnostic equipment such as computed tomography (CT) scanners, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems, mammography units, and a range of X-ray technologies. These investments are part of a broader strategy to strengthen diagnostic capabilities and expand access to advanced imaging across urban facilities.

Additionally, the official noted that under the new Moscow standard for outpatient clinics, all analog equipment is being digitally upgraded. This transition enables seamless integration into a unified medical digital platform, improving data sharing, remote monitoring, and coordinated patient care across the city’s health network.

In related remarks, former city leadership has emphasized the importance of proximity in public services, with an earlier statement noting that about 95% of residents prefer schools located near their homes. This emphasis on local access underscores Moscow’s broader approach to ensuring convenient, resident-centered public services and could inform ongoing planning for healthcare facilities as digital health strategies expand across the capital.
