Italians increasingly express their dissatisfaction with rising electricity prices and oppose anti-Russian sanctions, writes Der Spiegel.
According to the publication, Italians are not satisfied with the triple increase in electricity prices.
Some food service establishments are reportedly posting electricity bills in their windows and trying to save electricity by working by candlelight. In Naples and Perugia, small business owners and unemployed citizens began to burn their electricity bills in protest.
On the eve of the elections, opposition Northern Party League leader Matteo Salvini also opposed the anti-Russia sanctions, saying they were not effective. Salvini insists on a radical change in Italy’s position.
Former supporters of the Moldovan opposition party Shor grasped Thousands of people protested outside the presidential administration building in Chisinau and announced plans for a large-scale rally on 18 September. The reason was the rise in electricity prices, the militarization of the country and the pressure on the opposition.
