Since the beginning of the year, the number of open positions in IT has decreased by 25%, from 114.6k in January to 85.2k in August. At the same time, the latest number of vacancies was in the region of 126.9 thousand in February, after which their number decreased every month. However, the number of resumes increased on the contrary, and the increase from January to August was 55% from 211.1 thousand to 327,000.

Market experts agreed that the decrease in demand for IT specialists was due to the fact that employees of companies leaving the Russian market were able to find jobs in local organizations. However, this will not last long as import substitution will lead to an increase in the number of vacancies for programmers.

According to Natalya Danina, Head of Customer Productivity and Chief Labor Market Specialist, HeadHunter, the sharp increase in resumes is due to the appearance of a large number of young job candidates who have completed their training in popular online courses. . At the same time, despite the ongoing influx of new staff, the IT industry still needs qualified professionals, as Renat Lashin, managing director of the Software Developers Association “Domestic Soft” points out.
