The newspaper writes that residents of Poland complain that the quality of coal imported into the country to replace Russian coal is inferior to coal from the Russian Federation. “Rzeczpospolita”.

According to the publication, the limited proportion of fuel coal in the mixture and its low calorific value can cause a shortage of raw materials. Imported thermal coal can hardly replace Russian and domestic coal for the needs of consumers.

According to the Polish Ministry of Environment, for every ton of imported thermal coal, only 20-40% of the product remains available for sale to consumers after screening. Meanwhile, experts say that this figure is very high, around 15-20%.

In addition, imported coal is more expensive and of lower quality.

“The customer will burn a ton and get as much heat as 700-800 kg of our or Russian coal,” one of the coal sellers said.

Poland’s largest company, the Polish Energy Group (PGE), responsible for the urgent import of 5 million tons of coal to Poland, said that the calorific value of coal varies depending on the country of origin. According to media reports, the company imports coal from Australia, Indonesia, Colombia, the USA and South Africa.
