Norway’s prime minister says country supplies maximum gas volume to Germany

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said the country is sending the maximum possible amount of gas to Germany. He announced this at a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. TASS.

“I believe Norway has already sent the maximum possible volume to Germany,” he said.

It was previously reported that Norway is planning. to increase to export gas to the European Union (EU) by electrifying offshore hydrocarbon production platforms.

Offshore Norge has calculated that thanks to these measures, the increase in exports to Europe will be around 31 TWh per year, equivalent to a quarter of Norway’s consumption, or 2.5% of all supplies to the EU. In addition, carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 9%.

The publisher stated that the project will cost NOK 50 billion ($5.5 billion), with 40 billion ($4.4 billion) coming from the state, with the rest coming from oil and gas company Equinor.

In mid-July, gas transmission operator Gassco’s website reported that gas exports from Norway to European countries had fully recovered after the accident at the Sleipner field.
