Greenpeace Polska: Poland will have enough gas by December and then there will be a shortage of 40% of demand

Poland will have enough gas by December 2022, after which the country will face a 40% deficit. About this, Onet Rano program is on the air. declaration Marek Jozefiak, representative of Greenpeace Polska.

According to him, the government guarantees that there will be enough fuel in the country for the whole winter. The environmental organization decided to check it out.

“Our analysts analyzed the gas market in Europe, Poland, our contracts and the state of storage facilities. It has been revealed that there may be gas shortages in Poland at the level of 40% of the demand in December,” he said.

According to him, this means that if PGNiG (Polish oil and gas concern) does not sign new contracts before winter, the gas shortage will have to be bought on the exchange. In this case, expenditures would amount to more than 30 billion zloty (more than 6 billion dollars). This will make gas even more expensive for consumers. And this will happen against the backdrop of the fact that “all of Europe has fallen into a gas crisis”. That is, the shortage will be difficult to fill, “because the queue to buy additional gas is too long.”

According to the representative of Greenpeace Polska, in addition to the signing of new contracts by PGNiG, the country’s early independence from fossil fuels could save the situation.

Poland has not been receiving Russian gas since mid-spring. Later on PGNiG reported About receiving a notification from Gazprom that the Russian organization will completely stop the supply of gas to Poland from April 27 fault Warsaw will switch to a new payment schedule in rubles.
