The United States has extended until March 12, 2025 the general license that allows financial transactions with a number of Russian banks in the energy sector. This stems from a document published on: website United States Department of the Treasury.

The license was first implemented as part of US Executive Order 14024. It enables transactions related to the extraction, processing, transportation and sale of energy resources such as oil, natural gas, coal and biofuel.
The United States also extended until November 21 this year the general license that allows financial transactions with some Russian banks to serve civilian nuclear projects.
The license allows transactions related to such projects initiated before November 21, 2024. License restrictions include the exclusion of transactions related to a number of individual projects, such as the construction of the Paks-2 nuclear power plant in Hungary, as well as debit transactions to the Bank of Russia, the National Welfare Fund and the Bank of Russia.
