Agricultural producers in Kazakhstan signed $1 billion agreements with ten Chinese companies. This was reported by press service Republic Ministry of Agriculture.
The negotiations took place in Beijing, the ministry said. The Kazakh delegation was led by Aydarbek Saparov, head of the republic’s Ministry of Agriculture.
Chinese investors see organic produce production as one of the potentially attractive areas. The Chinese market is particularly interesting in terms of grain and flour exports.
“Last year, the volume of grain supplies to China increased 5.5 times, reaching 1.4 million tons,” the report states.
The Ministry of Agriculture noted that the largest share in Kazakhstan’s agricultural product exports to China belongs to grains and oilseeds, as well as vegetable oils.
