Russian government in April augmented Customs duty rates applied to alcoholic beverages imported from unfriendly countries. Taxes on beer were increased by 20%, from €0.04 to €0.1, and on vermouth, sparkling and regular wine by not less than $1.5 per liter.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that the increase in taxes on beer is not prohibitive and makes it possible to equalize competitive conditions for Russian producers.
