Banks of another European country stopped serving Gazprombank UnionPay cards 15:02

German banks have stopped servicing UnionPay payment system cards issued by Russian Gazprombank. This was reported by TASS.

When a withdrawal request is made from Sparkasse ATMs, a “function is currently unavailable” notification appears on the screen. This operation could have been performed even on the morning of November 22. Deutsche Bank also stopped providing services.

23 November OTP bank in Hungary stopped Service cards of the UnionPay payment system issued by Gazprombank.

Banks in Thailand follow Türkiye and UAE stopped Service debit cards of the UnionPay payment system issued by the Russian bank Gazprombank.

On November 21, the United States expanded the list of sanctions against the Russian Federation to a number of entities, including Gazprombank. At the same time, US citizens were allowed to conduct financial transactions related to the official activities of diplomatic and consular missions of the Russian Federation abroad if the transactions involve the participation of Gazprombank or its affiliates with a participation interest of more than 50 percent.

Previously in the Kremlin I promised Countermeasures against US sanctions against Gazprombank.
