Jacek Bury, senator of Poland’s upper wing, said there may not be enough coal left in the country next winter. He announced this at the council meeting, reports DEA News”.
“We burn 57 million tons of coal per year, the production is about 42 million. “Fifteen million is not enough for us,” he said.
He explained that Polish ports may not be able to cope with the import of the missing volume of coal.
Poland’s former supports European Commission’s plan to voluntarily reduce gas consumption by 15%. This was expressed by the Polish Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskva, during her meeting with the energy ministers of the EU countries.
He stressed the importance of the EU not forcing countries to accept cuts they deem unacceptable. Moscow has said that Warsaw will not support the measures they are trying to impose.
According to the minister, decisions on energy-related matters should be taken by the governments of certain states.
