LLC Sakhalin Energy, the new operator of the Sakhalin-2 oil and gas project, was registered in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Access to information about the founders and shareholders of the organization is limited. Information about the new company, it comes from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRLE).
This operator will replace Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. Andrey Oleinikov, the current head of Sakhalin Energy’s Russian branch, is listed as chairman. The authorized capital of the enterprise amounted to 10 thousand rubles.
At the end of June, President Vladimir Putin signed A decree on the creation of a company in Russia for the production of liquefied gas “Sakhalin-2” Sakhalin Energy, which will transfer all rights and obligations of the project operator.
Then in July, Kyodo reported that the Japanese government was in talks with Mitsui and Mitsubishi to retain their stake in the Sakhalin-2 project after Moscow decided to make a Russian LLC as the operator of the project. August 5th Cabinet of Japan called these companies agree to participate in Sakhalin-2.
To date, controlling stake in the project – 50% + 1 security – to Gazprom, Shell – 27.5% minus 1 share, 12.5% and 10% shares, respectively, in Japan’s Mitsui and Mitsubishi. In accordance with the presidential decree, Gazprom will retain its stake in the operator by acquiring the same stake in the new LLC, while the shares of the remaining shareholders of Sakhalin Energy will become the property of the new company.
