Austrian OMV announced victory in arbitration in its dispute with Gazprom Export 23:19

Austrian OMV announced that it received a positive decision in foreign arbitration due to its dispute with Gazprom Export and will take back the 230 million Euros given to it due to the deficiency in gas supply within the scope of the contract made with a Russian company to Germany. This was reported by TASS.

The company emphasized that Gazprom Export’s gas supplies to Germany stopped in September 2022, so OMV filed a request for arbitration in January 2023.

It is planned to deduct 230 million Euros from the payments that OMV must make to Gazprom Export within the scope of the fuel supply contract.

November 4 Supreme Court of the Russian Federation registered Complaint of OMV Gas Marketing & Trading GmbH (a subsidiary of OMV of Austria) in the arbitration institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce regarding the prohibition of ongoing transactions with Gazprom Export.
