Russia and Iran have completed the first stage of integration of Mir and Shetab payment systems. Representative of the Central Bank of Iran Mostafa Ghamari Vafa stated this on social networks.
“The integration of the Iranian payment system (Shetab) into the Russian payment system (Mir) has begun,” he wrote.
According to him, the central banks of the two countries also took part in the merger. Despite some difficulties, the project was completed, but the work is not yet fully completed.
Iranians can now withdraw cash in rubles from cards in their own country. Gamari Vafa clearly demonstrated how this happens by publishing a short video in which a person using a smartphone with NFC technology withdraws money from a VTB ATM.
