Bulgarian Employers Association calls for urgent resumption of gas supplies from Russia to Bulgaria TASSreferring to the letter of the organization.

“It is very clear to all objective-minded people that there is no alternative to the restoration of Russian gas supplies in accordance with the current agreement with the Russian side,” the document says.

The Republic believes that the contract for the supply of liquefied natural gas from the USA to Bulgaria with seven tankers proposed by the government of former Prime Minister Kiril Petkov will not be able to fully meet the gas demand, and the letter writes that its deficiency will lead to an increase in fuel prices.

“Surprisingly, if liquefied gas reaches Bulgaria, it will be 35-40% more expensive than gas, under an agreement with Gazprom Export. And if penalties are added to this, this gas will be three times more expensive, ”says the association.

The letter’s authors urged politicians to stop “irrational and nationally irresponsible acts and speeches.” “Mistakes have already been made, but they need to be fixed urgently if we want the Bulgarian economy to survive and our homes to be warm,” the document says.

Previously, the outgoing Bulgarian government approved An agreement for the supply of seven shipments of American liquefied natural gas (LNG). From October to April next year, the country will receive seven tankers carrying LNG from the US. You can withdraw from the contract until 19 August.
