Alfa-Bank presented a new generation of payment terminals that allow biometric identification of the buyer. This was reported by the press service of the financial institution.

The presentation took place at the Finopolis-2024 innovative financial technologies forum in Moscow.

The bank noted that the new terminals run on the Android operating system, support all cash solutions on the market, and have a stylish design and an intuitive interface. Thanks to their powerful technical features, the devices enable applications to run quickly.

Terminals allow you to pay in various ways: by card, through SBP, rings, stickers, bracelets, watches and QR, through various banking Payment services and using biometric ID. Integration of the digital ruble is expected in the near future.

To pay for a purchase using biometrics, simply click on the “Pay at a glance” button on the terminal screen and look at the terminal camera.

Alfa-Bank announced that while the technology is operating in pilot mode, scaling is planned for early 2025.

Alfa-Bank Small and Micro Business Director Denis Osin noted that such innovations contribute to the development of payment solutions in Russia, expanding the choice of payment instruments.

“During the 2 days of introducing the new terminals at Finopolis-2024, more than 300 successful payments were made using the recipient’s biometric identity, and this is just the beginning,” he said.
