In the first half of the year, one in six complaints to the Central Bank of Russia are about sanctions, informs press service of the regulator.
According to the department, in the January-June period, the Central Bank received 198.5 thousand complaints from financial services consumers and investors, with numbers increasing 36% compared to the same period last year. The main reason for this growth in the Central Bank was called the impact of sanctions on the work of financial institutions. Most often, consumers complained about the work of banks and brokers, the Central Bank received more than 33 thousand complaints due to sanctions (16.7% of the total for six months).
The Chamber also stated that they mainly expressed their dissatisfaction with difficulties in foreign currency transfers, commissions to foreign currency accounts and problems in withdrawing money from foreign currency deposits.
The Central Bank noted that generally excluding sanctions, the number of complaints against banks decreased by about 5 percent in January-June.
