The Russian leadership may index regular cash payments to retirees from January 1, 2025. Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Social Policy of the Russian Federation, spoke about this. RIA Novosti.
“In accordance with the draft law on the budget of pensions and social funds, it is proposed to index insurance pensioners in 2025 <…> By 7.3%,” the parliamentarian explained.
He emphasized that the authorities plan to index the social benefits of both non-working retirees and employees.
As the MP said, some retirees will receive increased payments as early as December this year. We are talking about the benefits of holidays in January 2025.
Also, according to Bessarab, from 2026 the country may start indexing pensions twice, on February 1 and April 1.
