FAS buys new vehicles to combat rising prices 18:47

The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a law expanding the powers of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) to control pricing and compliance with anti-monopoly legislation. This was reported by “Kommersant”.

According to the adopted document, the FAS will have the right to send notice to company officers and authorities about the inadmissibility of public statements that could lead to a violation of anti-monopoly legislation.

In addition, the institution will be able to warn digital platform owners to stop activities that indicate possible violations. This applies to cases of imposing unfavorable conditions on partners, unfair refusal to conclude contracts and setting different prices for the same goods.

In the message, the statement “The law will come into force on March 1, 2025” was clarified.

Products such as bread, milk, meat and vegetables from the borscht set will be controlled. The adoption of the law aims to strengthen control over pricing and prevent unfair increases in prices of basic goods.
